Jomablue supports the use of tracking parameters in Online Free Registration and Online Paid Registration, allowing the identification of the source of each Registration/Order. This data can be utilised to track the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns, sales representatives, and more.

Tracking Parameters

Tracking Parameters take the form of a key=value pair. Keys and values can include letters, numbers, and underscores (note that they are not case sensitive). Some use cases include:

  • Tracking multiple campaigns: Tracking Parameters can be used to identify individual marketing campaigns. For example, if you wish to track the effectiveness of a number of eDM campaigns, you could use the key "edm" and the values "edm01", "edm02" etc to identify each campaign.
  • Tracking multiple sales representatives: Tracking Parameters can be used to identify individual sales representatives. For example, you could use the key "sales_rep" and the values "rep01", "rep02" etc, or the values "roger", "billy" etc, to identify each sales representative.

Tracking parameters do not need to be created before they are used - simply add them to the Site URL (see the next section of this article for how to do so), and they will be automatically be associated with each Registration or Order that is submitted with those parameters.

For both Online Free Registration and Online Paid Registration, these key=value pairs are made available in a bulk export (see the end of this article for details). Additionally, for Online Paid Registration, these key=value pairs are made available as Custom Fields and can be viewed in the Advanced tab of individual Orders.

Creating Tracking Parameters

Jomablue Online Registration supports the use of tracking parameters via URL parameters that can be included in an Online Site URL. At the end of the Site URL put a '?' character, followed by the first key-value pair. Additional key-value pairs must be separated with '&' characters.

For example, the key=value pairs "edm=edm01" and "sales_rep=rep02" can be added to an Online Site URL in the following form:

https://acme.jomablue.com/reg/store/demo-store?edm=edm01&sales_rep=rep02

Orders that are placed in this Site via this URL will have two Custom Fields attached to them, named "edm" and "sales_rep". The values for these Custom Fields will be "edm01" and "rep02" respectively, indicating that the source of this particular sale was the eDM "edm01", and came from the sales representative "rep02".

A demonstration of adding tracking parameters to a Site URL can be found below:

Note that the key "coupon" is reserved and unavailable for use as a tracking parameter - this URL parameter is used to apply coupon codes. However tracking parameters and Coupons applied via URL parameters can be used at the same time - be sure to separate each parameter with a '&' character.

Tracking your Campaigns

The data captured by these Order Custom Fields in order to track your marketing campaigns and sales representative performance can be obtained via two methods:

  • Viewing individual orders (Online Paid Registration only): the Custom Fields associated with a specific Order can be viewed by navigating to the Order in Jomablue, and then clicking on the Custom Fields tab, where the parameters will be displayed in a list (see below):
  • Bulk exporting (All Online Registration): a list of all Registrations/Orders and their Custom Fields can be downloaded by trusted-finance and trusted-admin users. To download this report, navigate to Registration > Financial Reports, locate the Order Custom Fields section, and click on Download Reports
